entranceBenidorm’s annual ‘Medieval Market’ located along Dove Park at the beginning of the Poniente beach in the Old Town is open and will remain so until Sunday night – May 13. Throughout the 3 days there will be processions, demonstrations and entertainment, plus many of the stallholders are dressed in period costumes to add to the authenticity.

The stalls have a varied selection of handcrafted goods such as soaps, jewelry, leather goods, clothing, toys and trinkets in addition to many food stalls with hams, cheese, bread, herbs & spices and dried fruits and nuts.

sweetsFor those that are hungry, there is also a bbq with a delicious selection of ribs, sausages and sucking pigs rotating on a spit, all served with big hunks of bread and pickles as well as a gigantic paella on the go – which was enticing a lot of people.

cushionsThe market is open until Sunday evening and certainly worth a visit to see something different, which you probably wouldn’t experience back home… but closes between 2-5pm for lunch. It’s a lovely way to spend an evening, browsing around and afterwards, enjoying a drink.
