The weather has certainly been fabulous over the weekend - with temperatures hitting the high 20´s on Sunday... and due to remain great for the foreseeable future. Great news for those heading here for their Easter breaks - and obviously for those here already.
As well as approaching Easter holiday time, therefore half term for schools, this time of the year is heading towards "high season" for another certain group - the Stag & Hens!

There was certainly no shortage of groups this weekend in the heart of Benidorm - many out on weekend breaks. These 3 and 4 day breaks have been made very affordable thanks to the selection of "Low Cost carriers" flying into Alicante - it is often cheaper to travel to Benidorm than to stay within the UK. But obviously the main attraction is the combination of great weather and cheap booze!

Girls love to dress up at the best of times and during "Hen party time" it is almost compulsory! Most of the groups walk around with sashes or specially printed T-Shirts, with the bride-to-be wearing either an "L" Plate or a veil. On one of the nights out they often have a theme - with all of them dressing up... a coloured tutu is currently very popular.  Its all great fun and the Hens are generally better behaved than the Stags.

Maybe it is something to do with the fact that the boys spend virtually most of the day drinking whereas the girls go off and either sunbathe or find activities, such as cocktail making - which is proving very popular at the moment, not only for hens but also groups of girls celebrating special landmark birthdays. But the girls also like a little bit a saucy entertainment - and booking a stripper, which up to now has been mainly the preserve for the boys is no longer!

More and more groups of girls are booking a male stripper for the bride - and there is a lot of screaming, cheering and photo taking to capture the moment.... but as they say "What goes on in Benidorm, stays in Benidorm!"

Many visitors criticize and disapprove of these groups, but rather like the Benidorm series, Love it or Hate it, it keeps the resort going and many of the bars would be struggling were it not for them. They are only out for some fun and most are usually well behaved - yes you get a small minority misbehaving, but then no different to any other British City at the weekend. They only tend to come for 3 nights and will stay to the confines of "The Square" - so if you want to avoid them then that is where to stay away from.
