Levante front yesterday lunchtime
Well it´s Christmas Eve and here on the Costa Blanca it is predicted to be another lovely day. Yesterday I drove down the Levante front and it was such a clear day you cold actually see the cross up on the hill. There were quite a few people on the beach and even some brave souls swimming in the sea  - perhaps they are practising for the San Silvestre race!

The race is taking place on Sunday 29th - there is a running race and also for the first time, a swim. It starts at 11am from the junction of Calle Bilbao and Avd Mediterrraneo (where the Don Dino toy shop is) and is 6,300 metres - going down the Levante beach then up the Mediterraneo. There are several prize categories, including one for the best individual fancy dress and also the best group fancy dress!
The swim starts at 12 Noon at the seafront at the top of the Calle Bilbao. A full body wetsuit is compulsory for anyone wishing to take part and a goodie bag will be given to each participant.

Crane going up for the new casino
Astonishingly I was amazed to see a crane being erected on the site of the new casino on the Avd Mediterraneo yesterday.... perhaps they are serious about it being built and ready for the start of the Summer season - stranger things have happened I suppose!

I do feel sorry for those stuck in the UK, with the appalling weather conditions I have witnessed on the television. For those that are trying to get away I hope you make it without too many delays. For those here in Benidorm, have a super time - eat, drink and be merry and I hope that Santa brings you what you wished for!
