Orange The much anticipated Moors parade took place in Altea yesterday evening – the highlight of the annual fiesta calendar. After the carnival in Rio this must definitely come a close second for elaborate and eye catching outfits! Hundreds packed the main street to watch and admire, with cameras poised while jostling for prime position.

tribalThe detail of the face painting is absolutely stunning and you are unlikely to see anything quite like it anywhere else. A team of specialist make up artistes are bought in especially for the occasion - it's not really something that you can do yourself.

blueTomorrow night – Monday 26, is the turn of the Christians, again starting off at 8pm. Get there early if you want a good view and if driving be prepared to park some distance away. Alternatively get the tram to Garganes, which is the stop directly behind the Town Hall. The hourly service departs one minute past the hour and take ap 17 minutes. The Benidorm Moors and Christians parade takes place next Saturday, October 1st.
