The new Leroy Merlin opens in Finestrat tomorrow, a haven for DIY enthusiasts – and as a special promotional offer, are offering 15 per cent OFF all purchases made on the day! The Mayor of Finestrat Juan Fransisco Perez and the Director of Leroy Merlin Spain, Ignacio Sanchez officially inaugurated the store today, ahead of tomorrow’s grand opening.

The 11,800 sq mt store is the 67th to be opened in Spain – the nearest up until now has been in Alicante. It will be open 7 days a week, from 9am until 10pm and employs 140 staff plus an additional 50 who work behind the scenes.

Inside you will find everything you could possibly imagine for DIY, home improvements, gardening- including plants and furniture and construction… plus very thoughtfully they have iunstalled a children’s play area and cafeteria for customers.. or probably for the bored wives!

All the staff and their families were invited to the inauguration today, giving them a chance to have a good look around. Residents of Finestrat were given priority when applying for jobs at the new store – one of the provisos’s to secure the contract stipulated by the Mayor. It is certainly a huge boost for the local economy and in the next few weeks Conforama will open next door, selling furniture and white goods for the home.
