Benidorm PalaceFollowing on in the theme of the four elements, the new show at Benidorm Palace is called FIRE, with Aqua (water) and Terra (earth) already covered. This iconic venue is a must, not only for holidaymakers and visitors, but also regularly frequented by numerous residents too.
05It really is a special night out and the opportunity to get dressed up. Most choose to go for the full experience and dine, starting with a delicious 4 course meal – quite how they manage to feed 1000+ each evening with the quality and level of service is a feat in itself.

IMG 0573To start, goats cheese salad, followed by cream of vegetable soup then either fillet steak for the “Plus” menu or pork fillet finished off with a double chocolate mousse – fish and vegetarian options are also available on request when booking. There is also the option to just go and see the show, so for those on an all-inclusive holiday you can still eat at your hotel.

02As the lights dim, a hush of anticipation falls and the bright lights illuminate the biggest stage in Europe, with high tec LED digital screens spanning across the entire width. The energy, colour and variety of costumes delivered by the troupe of performers leaves you spellbound as one number seamlessly blends into the next.

14 Red and orange are the feature colours, mostly associated with the theme of the show and the colourful troupe, along with their spectacular costume changes and constant reinvention of dance styles is breathtaking.

18This year the highly popular Riverdance set is back, met with huge cheers and applause and a Saturday Night Fever number, complete with white John Travolta suits is a hit, perhaps bringing back memories for some!

07Many will recognise the dramatic classical tune of “Carmina Burana” famously used in the Old Spice advert and sensationally incorporated into one of the haunting church flamenco numbers in the first half.

11There are also some sensational support acts featuring arial acrobats, jaw defying balancing, magic and a laser show on in between the dance routines with even some audience participation delivering plenty of laughter with one of the acts.

08The costumes mix new with tradition, bringing a modern twist to the show.
The resident band “New Bamboo” gets everyone up and dancing during the 30-minute interval halfway through, giving people a chance to stretch their legs … or pop outside for a sneaky cigarette!

17The venue is fully air conditioned and it really is a family friendly show, with plenty of children attending who all appear to enjoy it as much as the adults.

13Ensure you get an afternoon siesta as it´s a late night. It is certainly easy to understand why it is such a hit, with rave reviews about every production it creates and no holiday to Benidorm is complete without a visit to The Palace.... you certainly won´t be disappointed!
