Yesterday I met up and had a chat with Simon Bird, Line Producer of the ITV hit comedy series "Benidorm" in the Pink House - the ground floor is the set for the reception of the Solana resort, but upstairs are the production offices. Simon has been heading up the production team since series 3 - when it changed to the hour long episodes.I wanted to know exactly what a "Line Producer" does...

Ask any Brit back in the UK to name a hotel in Benidorm and I bet many will come up with "The Solana"!It is amazing how many believe that the Solana is actually a real hotel, made famous by the hit ITV comedy series "Benidorm". Well it IS a real hotel - it´s the "Sol Pelicanos", but only the pool area is now used for filming.

Although not appearing until the third series of the ITV hit comedy series Benidorm, Tim's character Lesley has become an integral and hilarious addition to the cast - and off screen he is just as funny as I found out when we sat down together during a break when shooting at the Sol Pelicanos hotel. I couldn't stop laughing as I looked at him.... full face of OTT make-up and red nail varish.
