  • The Council has allocated 180,000 euros to improve the image of Benidorm, specifically fixing the pavements in the Rincon de Loix area, something that the neighbourhood and business associations have been demanding for years. "Infranostrum", the company carrying out the fourth phase of the "Road Improvement Plan" were visited on site by the Councillor of Tourism Gema Amor to inspect the progress. She said it was important to improve the image of the town which sees a large influx of visitors, especially the British over the year.

  • Yesterday evening a brand new karting track opened in Benidorm – a mere 10 minute walk from the Levante beach! The Mayor Agustin Navarro officially inaugurated the latest leisure facility to come to the resort and thanked the two businessmen who bought it to fruition – Antonio Garay and Ramón Román. After his speech he then went down to the track, donned a safety jacket and helmet and jumped into a kart, where Antonio´s son joined him for a few laps.

  • Benidorm police are starting to crack down on establishments for not complying with regulations - in particular with reference to noise pollution. The hospitality and nightlife business is extremely important to the economy of the resort, but there needs to be a balance with the rights of the residents too - not an easy task by any stretch of the imagination. Many Brits come on holiday to Benidorm specifically because the alcohol is so much cheaper and the town is rife with Stag and Hens groups, something of a controversial issue with family groups.
