I think that when everyone woke up yesterday morning and looked outside their hearts sunk - it was pouring with rain! Considering that temperatures had been in the late 20´s with blazing sun only the previous week it was very disappointing - but fear not. By late morning the clouds were breaking and by noon the sun was shining - I bet you could almost hear the sign of relief from all the bar owners!

The fancy dressers started arriving around noon - and what a wonderful site it was too. You couldn´t begin to comprehend the number of people present and they just seemed to keep coming. This year it was spread even further up the Calle Gerona, as the top end at Morgans Tavern was shut to traffic.

The Western Saloon put on a free paella which drew quite a lot of the crowds to that end - but generally people wondered up and down the entire length of the road, past Jumping Jacks at the opposite end and across the English Square. If you lost someone then it would be highly unlikely that you´d be re-united!

The atmosphere was electric with all the bars blasting music out, creating a real carnival like feel. The real icing was that the weather was just perfect despite the shaky start to the day - the sun was out but not too hot. For those not able to attend here is a very small selection to give you a feel of the day - enjoy and make sure you book for next year, which will be on Thursday 13th November 2014.

Don´t forget that there is FREE paella outside of Sinatra´s today, courtesy of Manolo the owner. It is his way of saying thank you for your continued support and loyalty in choosing Benidorm for your holiday - get there for about 2pm.
