It is hard to believe it is mid-October with the incredible weather we are currently experiencing here in Benidorm. Those lucky enough to be here on holiday are having a fabulous time, with temperatures in the late 20´s and same forecast for the entire week ahead too.

The beach has been packed today but a word of warning, the “cocktail men” are also about and doing a roaring trade, claiming to be from the hotels! Do not be fooled – they make the drinks up in the back of filthy vans or on the floor of backstreet alleys.

Please use one of the numerous bars lining the promenade instead. There is certainly no shortage to chose from and there were plenty enjoying a drink with a view all afternoon long... with the added bonus of topping up their tans!

As day turns to night, the resort transforms into a neon metropolis, full of life. Benidorm is famed for its varied nightlife, and you will find something to suit all tastes, be it music or comedy. Entry is totally free to all the cabaret bars – all that is asked is that you buy a drink.

If going out in a group, please do not leave anyone behind, especially if they are a little worse for wear. Sadly, like everywhere across the world, there will be people out there preying on exactly those, left behind alone. Take them back to their hotel or at least put them in a taxi – you´d hope they would do that for you or your younger sibling surely?

The bars and clubs stay open into the early hours and a trip to Mariano´s at 5am is a right of passage for many. Have fun, stay safe and come back…remember the countdown is on - it´s less than 5 weeks till the Benidorm fiestas and British Fancy Dress Day!
