The Channel 5 documentary series “Bargain Loving Brits in the Sun” made by Blakeway North - who also produced BenidormER, has proven to be very popular both here and in the UK. Feedback from locals that actually live here is positive, with many commenting that it is at last showing a truer reflection of the resort. This 8 part documentary series was filmed in the resort and started in May, lasting until the end of the year and there are only 3 episode left to watch... want to know who you will see?

Fly on the wall documentary series Benidorm ER followed holidaymakers and expats who found themselves sick or injured and needing medical attention while in the resort. Made by Blakewell North for Channel 5, film crews were based at the private Hospital Clinica Benidorm where they shadowed the medical team in emergency and subsequent follow up treatments. But not all cases required a trip to the hospital – Dr Torres at the Centro Medico dealt with many non-emergency cases and referrals.

Following the success of Channel 5's documentary "Benidorm ER" which was screened at the beginning of the year, a second series has been commissioned. Last year the camera's followed unfortunate British holiday makers and ex-pats that ended up in casualty at the private Hospital Clinica Benidorm - one of two private hospitals in the town.

Benidorm is hot property when it comes to television – and film crews are nothing new here. Ever since 2006, when the first episode of the hit ITV comedy Benidorm was shot, others have followed in their footsteps. Next Tuesday - 5th January sees a brand new 8 part documentary made by Blakewey North, an award winning TV company based in Manchester who also made BenidormER, so have lots of experience in the resort. It will hit our screens on Channel 5 and is called “Bargain Loving Brits in the Sun”.

One of Benidorm´s most popular venues – The Showboat has a new captain steering the ship. Wayne, aka Miss Levi has handed over the reigns to Karen and Mick Coburn – the new owners, but rest assured, Wayne and Des are still onboard. They will continue working and performing – and will be joined by Karen’s three gorgeous daughters Abby, Hayley and Danielle.
