  • On Monday the turnout was fabulous at the Sol Pelicanos Hotel - the fictious Solana Resort from the hit ITV comedy "Benidorm". The Thomson reps did a great job to ensure a large turnout of holiday makers - perhaps the promise of a pool side breakfast was too good an opportunity to miss. I bet many had been up half the night producing their "Hello banners" to wave...

  • The ITV Daybreak production team are arriving in Benidorm on Wednesday to do some live shooting in and around "The Square" during the early hours... so if you see a cameraman you'll know where he's from! They hope to get a feel of the nightlife and what attracts millions of Brits to Benidorm every year which will be transmitted via a live link next Monday and Tuesday.

  • Just like a hurricane, the ITV crew and presenters came and left like a torpedo! The morning started early at the Sol Pelicanos hotel - the crew having already set up by 8am ready for the live link ups. Benidorm Mayor, Agustin Navarro arrived at 9 o´clock to pre-record a welcome speech as he had a previous engagement so couldn´t broadcast live - not that anyone would have realised anyway.

  • ITV´s Good Morning Britain breakfast program came to Benidorm to broadcast live from the Sol Pelicanos hotel – known to most as the Solana Resort from the hit ITV comedy series! The live broadcast was anchored by popular presenter Ranvir Singh who was accompanied by the dishy Dr Hilary Jones and Fashion Correspondant Mark Heyes.

  • ITV's Daybreak Entertainment correspondent Steve Hargrave has been in Benidorm since last Wednesday pre-recording clips in preparation for Monday and Tuesday's live broadcast. I have been accompanying Steve and the crew around various locations over the last few days and on Saturday had the opportunity to personally interview Steve following a live broadcast on Hotmale Radio.

  • Benidorm is hot property when it comes to television – and film crews are nothing new here. Ever since 2006, when the first episode of the hit ITV comedy Benidorm was shot, others have followed in their footsteps. Next Tuesday - 5th January sees a brand new 8 part documentary made by Blakewey North, an award winning TV company based in Manchester who also made BenidormER, so have lots of experience in the resort. It will hit our screens on Channel 5 and is called “Bargain Loving Brits in the Sun”.
