It is also on every Saturday and Thursday – but Sunday is by far the busiest and most popular day. Located on the N332, the main road out of Benidorm and next to Benisol Camping, it is very easy to find.

  • Virtually every Spanish town holds a weekly outdoor market but here in Benidorm we are doubly lucky, with not one but two and both on twice a week – every Wednesday and Sunday. The one most popular with holidaymakers is in the Rincon de Loix, just past the Pueblo and Helios hotels. The other is past the tram station in the old town, in the Foietes car park opposite the Guillermo Amor sports stadium. The stall holders are set up by 8am and generally there till around 1:30/2pm, so you can still manage a lie in if you’ve had a heavy night out!

  • The prospect of yet another market in Benidorm has caused uproar with local traders – and they have declared war to stop it going ahead. The proposed location is off the old N332 – opposite the ITV testing station, along the "Golden Mile" where all the Spanish nightclubs are.

  • Benidorm Mayor, Agustin Navarro met with the promoter and representatives of the proposed new market along the N332 – a Dutch company "Outlet Market C.B" last Friday morning. The 2,500 sq mt plot, located opposite the ITV vehicle testing station and just before the nightclubs has been cleared and leveled, but the Council have now withdrawn its support for the project after mass opposition from local traders. One of the things which remain unchanged here are the weekly street markets - but how many does one town need?
