Not only do we have the ITV crew back in Benidorm, about to embark on the 7th series of the hit comedy show but the producers of Channel 4´s BAFTA winning Ramsey´s Kitchen Nightmares are also on the lookout. They are a bit like buses, nothing for ages then 2 come at once!

Over the last few days, Rob Gillies, one of the Assistant Producers on the show has been here in the resort, researching and looking for potential leads.
Yesterday afternoon I met up with him as he took to the airwaves, with lunch time presenter Ashley Price on Cool FM 97.4 - the Costa Blanca´s number one ex-pat radio station to publicise the search.

They are looking for any food establishments - it doesn´t have to necessarily be a restaurant he explained, so long as they serve food - and obviously be British owned. Bars or cafes serving all day breakfasts stand just as much chance of being selected as do small B&B´s or hotels. They are looking for Brits with stories to tell, it is more about the people - possibly a newly opened establishment? It certainly is a once in a life time opportunity to have a world famous Michelin-Starred Chef in your kitchen! Some of the potential leads are places that I have been to, but mums the word....

Filming is scheduled to take place towards the end of May and will be done over the course of a week. The programme is very popular not only in the UK but has a huge following in the States, where incidentally Gordon owns a "burger joint", re-enforcing the fact that it doesn´t need to be posh a la carte eatery.

Series Producer Nicola Lloyd says "This series will see Gordon travel to Europe´s holiday hotspots to help Brit-owned establishments". They are also looking further afield and Rob travelled down to Calpe, Denia and Torrevieja whilst here. It will most certainly put you on the map appearing on national television.... but remember, it´s all about the editing!
