The speakers had been set up along the route that morning and hastily covered in plastic to protect them from the weather. Fortunately, the rain stopped by early evening and it was all stations go - a relief for everyone involved.
A record 70 penya´s (groups) took part this year and there were hardly any duplications of costumes, apart from the "Minions" - I hadn´t a clue and had to ask my son who enlightened me.
I would say that the majority of the costumes had been hand made, with great thought and effort going into them. It was a great turnout - both participant and spectator wise. Towards the end of the parade it started raining again, but I don´t think anyone really minded. Afterwards all the participants congregated in the giant marque and partied the night away....
