Happy Three Kings day everyone in Spain, or "Feliz dia de Reyes"... and for those poor souls in wet and storm battered Britain, good luck if you are heading back to work! Here we have woken up to another beautiful sunny day and many young children will be waking up in excited anticipation to see what the Three Kings have left them!

Last nights
Three Kings parade in Benidorm was very well attended as always, and with the exceptionally warm weather made it a very pleasant evening. The red and orange sky as the sun went down made a beautiful backdrop for the beginning of the procession, which started just a little after the 6pm schedule.
Despite announcing that only the three main floats would be throwing out sweets (due to safety reasons following a death in Malaga last year), it wasn´t the case and all the floats were, much to the delight of all. Perhaps the local dental association protested and decided to supply them - obviously they have a vested interest, especially as there is no free dental care, even for children, here in Spain.
The Three Wise men were businessmen from the community and once the parade had finished, at the Town Hall Square, they took part in a short nativity play on a specially constructed stage with more "cast". They delivered their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh and it finished off the procession nicely, especially for the children who then couldn´t wait to get home!
