The world famous Oktoberfest, is a beer festival traditionally held every year in Munich, Germany. But this year, for the first time, Benidorm is to hold its very own 3 day Oktoberfest starting tomorrow - Thursday 18th October from 6pm until Saturday 20th October.
All the action will be centred down Calle Santa Domingo, better known as +in the Old Town, which starts at the Cava Aragonesa tapas bar - the one which is always busy!Participants will be able to buy a specially commissioned half litre beer tankard for only 1 euro which is yours to keep. You can then go from bar to bar and have it topped up with two different types of German lager on offer for only 2 euros, the equivalent of 1.60 GBP a pint - a caña, which is a small glass usually sells for 1.70 euro, so a great buy. The beer is being specially imported from Germany - the same one which is used at the Munich beer festival.

Each evening there will also be live music, either actually down Tapas Alley or on Plaza de la Constitucion (square opposite Queens hotel). And what a great line up they have....

This popular Argentinian pair, along with Pablo Bloom are a real hit with the British holiday makers so should bode well for a great 3 days. The live music will play till about 11pm but the bars will stay open until the small hours - 2am, if you can last that long!
Incase you are wondering what the weather is like in Benidorm mid October and still possibly believe the Sun´s "Benidoom" article, take a look at this picture which I took today at noon of Levante beach. Does it look deserted to you..... quick, go book that flight and don´t forget to pack the suncream!

A few photos of the opening night at Oktoberfest....
