Leather clad girls....

Last night was the turn of the Christians - but you could almost have mistaken it for a Christian Grey parade. Those girls that have read the book trilogy "50 Shades of Grey" will know exactly what Im talking about.... yes I admit I am one of the millions of women that have read them!

The first 3 penyas were kitted out in leather and thigh high boots - thats the girls and the men had chains across their backs ... I was waiting for them to flex a leather whip and jangle hand cuffs next!

It was just as well that it was a warm evening otherwise the scantily clad girls would have been a wee bit chilly.... In my article on the Moors parade I made a remark about some people bringing their own chairs. Well I stood directly behind a row when the "chair inspector" did his round and was collecting money. I was stunned to hear that a chair cost 7 euros.... the chap who was pushing 4 plastic garden chairs in a pram probably paid less for the set in Carrefour and they were his to keep afterwards.

The biggest applause (from the women - the men had exhausted themselves clapping heartily at the leather clad women beforehand) came when some tiny dressed up tots came down the parade route. I think that everyone managed to get a photo of the trio - they even stopped to pose at intervals.  They were so cute and the smallest was just about able to walk.... you see, they start them off young here and then they progress onto more raunchy outfits when they get older!







Even the Mayor of La Nucia, Bernabe Cano took part in the parade - he is the leader (obviously) in the above parade of soldiers.


There was even an unexpected gaggle of geese running down the road... wonder if any ended up as someones dinner later on!

Remember there is no Tuesday market today in Altea as its a local Bank Holiday, plus there is a massive fairground in the carpark where the market finishes... next big market is on Wednesday in Benidorm.
