ITV Daybreak broadcast from Levante beach

Early start and no sun in sight!

Monday morning was the first live broadcast from Benidorm's Levante beach. Although it was an early start - in fact it was still dark when we arrived at 6.30am there was a great turnout. Amongst the crowd there was a group of ex-pat pensioners from The Companians Club - including Victor Evans, the clubs oldest member at the grand age of 89, many local residents, Holiday makers, Tour reps from Thomson and Thomas Cook and two resident tribute bands from Benidorm - "Girls Aloud" and "Take That" which both had the opportunity to perform live throughout the 2.5 hr live broadcast.

The days special guest from the ITV hit comedy series "Benidorm" was Crissy Rock who played Janey and she stayed for the duration of the broadcast. The crowds were positioned for the various shots and practiced cheering and clapping on cue! The younger guests had a great time building sandcastles with the rep's and even Steve Hargrave joined in - but I must say his attempt collapsed.... shhh - don't let on that I told you!

In total there were 6 live broadcasts throughout the duration of the morning. The "Cruz Rojo", equivalent to Britain's Red Cross were on hand incase of any emergencies - but fortunately their services were not required.... this is actually a legal requirement at any public gathering.

Tuesday morning I will be with the crew where they are broadcasting live from the Sol Pelicanos hotel - better known as the "Solana" from the ITV series and the days special guests are Tony Maudsley who plays Kenneth and Shelley Longworth who plays Sam. More pictures and updates to follow...
