Standing tall - the Bali hotelDid you know that the tallest hotel in Europe is located here in Benidorm? The Gran Hotel Bali is in La Cala, at the far end of Benidorm and stands tall at 186 metres – it is certainly prominent on the Benidorm skyline. Walk along the length of the Poniente beach and it then turns into La Cala beach – many think that it is all Poniente, then towards the end you will see the imposing Bali hotel.

Bali hotel stands tall on the Benidorm skyline

bali hotelIt is a fair walk and if you want to be partying in the heart of the Rincon then probably not the best choice – but if you are after a relaxing and laid back break, then this should certainly be on your list of possible contenders. You certainly cannot miss this hotel - it is not your average looking block.
There are a staggering 52 floors in total – 43 of which are designated as guest rooms and suites with an astounding 776 bedrooms, while the other floors are conference rooms and technical floors.... there is an annual race up to the top every year!

Partial All Inclusive

restaurant at Gran BaliThe hotel is very popular with British guests and in the peak season nearly half of the clients are British. For 8 months of the year, from October through till May the hotel offers All Inclusive board then over the Summer gives you the flexibility to eat out and sample some of the delights of the area. It is perfectly feasible to walk down to the Old Town and enjoy some tapas down the famous Tapas Alley.

Buffet at Gran BaliThere are two restaurants in the hotel, which cater for up to 2000 people on a daily basis – and they certainly have the British market covered by offering HP Sauce and Heinz ketchup! The self service buffet is extensive and even non resident guests can eat there, so if you have friends staying you can always join then for lunch or dinner.

Spectacular glass lift

View from lift as it goes upThere are 23 lifts serving the hotel, but the most spectacular has to be the glass panoramic lift which takes you up to the 43rd floor viewpoint deck. There is a charge to go up – 2.50€ for hotel guests and 6€ for non guests while under 12´s are free (max 1 per adult). However, keep your receipt and on presentation at the Ponoch Bar on the ground floor you will receive a soft drink or glass of draught beer.

If you suffer from vertigo then maybe give it a miss - or close your eyes as it goes up... but the view is worth it!
