It has been announced that Victoria Aragüés Gadea, better known to millions as ´Sticky Vicky´ passed away this morning - Wednesday 29 November, aged 80. The exotic dancer’s daughter Maria said “I can´t believe it, she has gone surrounded by her family, with all our love. I thank God for being able to always be by her side, I am left with a broken heart”.
A trained ballerina, she came to Benidorm in the early 80´s where she soon became a hit with British holidaymakers for her ´x-rated magic show´- performing several times a night in bars and clubs across the popular Rincon de Loix.
Her banner would be hung from at least half a dozen clubs, displaying the time she would be on. It was almost a rite of passage for the numerous stag and also hen groups to see her unusual show when visiting.
In an article published by the Spanish newspaper El Pais whilst she was still performing it quoted " Her show consists of pulling objects out of her vagina: Coca Cola bottles, giant candles, light bulbs... somehow glowing, and real razors which she asks a member of the public to test by holding a piece of paper that she can cut with the said razor and for her finale, a bunch of flowers!" At Christmas time it was a Christmas tree....
She retired in 2016, aged 72 following a hip operation then being diagnosed with cancer and her daughter Maria Gadea took over, continuing her mother´s unique act. Tributes for the Benidorm legend have been pouring in from both locals and holidaymakers upon hearing the news.
