Youth culture in Spain is totally different to that back in the UK - it is one of the reasons many families move here. You hardly ever hear of knife crime here - and when you do its almost always Ex-Pat youths who have had too much to drink or East European gangs that are involved. In the UK its almost a weekly occurance on the news that yet another 15/16 year old has been fatally stabbed

Mayor Navaro said that the trial was welcomed by both local businesses and visitors who could dine al fresco without the noise, danger and pollution of passing cars... and obviously smokers were able to enjoy their cigarettes.

For those of us that have chosen Spain as their new home the benefits are numerous ... weather probably being the No 1 reason that most of us move here closely followed by relaxed lifestyle and a cheaper cost of living. Sometimes the "relaxed lifestyle" is alittle too horizontal for my liking and it can be frustrating at times .... you just want to gee them up.
When you pop down to your local service station you obviously expect to find petrol, maybe some basic groceries, newspapers ....... what else ? Well I was rather suprised at what I found in my local Repsol stations. Its fairly common to find a car wash but a laundrette? Well work has restarted after the summer break ..... however, as reported back in February I somehow think that the promised June deaadline has been missed. Mind you - they didn't say what year... in which case !The current access into Alfaz off the N332 from Benidorm is a nightmare. The council installed "temporary" traffic lights after the Gota Fria a few years ago when the underpass towards Albir got flooded
