mirador canonThe night market "Les Nits del Castell" up at the Mirador in Benidorm Old Town has started - and will be on until the 15th September. The Mirador is home to probably the most spectacular view of Benidorm - you can see both the Levante and Poniente bays from there. It is a very popular tourist spot and a great place for an evening stroll - with plenty of bars to enjoy a drink while taking in the view, not forgetting nearby Tapas Alley!

caricature artists at the miradorYou will find plenty of stalls to browse with a selection of handcrafted items such as jewellry, leather goods and ceramics - all locally made. There is also a stall run by the local handicapped association, with items made by the members, as well as artists who will sketch you up a caricature to take home in no time! Some can even reproduce spectacular portraits from photographs, which would make a perfect gift to take home.

La Nucia In addition, this coming weekend - Friday 10th until Sunday 12th July, the town of La Nucia will be holding its annual Medieval market in the streets around the church and Town Hall.

This year the town celebrates 310 years of independence – in 1705 La Nucia separated from neighbouring Polop so is especially significant. Located only 10km from Benidorm and 3km from Altea, the name of La Nucia comes from the Arabic name Naziha - meaning delicious! Every Friday they offer free guided tours of the town - contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

dried fruitStarting on Friday the old town will be transformed into a bustling market of the middle ages. There will be over 70 stalls selling a variety of products and demonstrating ancient arts and crafts, with most of the stall holders dressed in medieval costumes to make the fair more authentic. You will be able to see food being made in medieval tradition – and even sampling some, watch a blacksmith make artistic pieces alongside stalls selling aromatic medicinal herbs and hand crafted leather pieces.

The market will be open from 6pm until well after midnight on Friday 10th, Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th – with free parking available at the Plaza de les Nits nearby.
